My son has be on peritoneal dialysis for 2 years. Before you (or the patient you are referring to) go home, you (s/he) will have training at the clinic, where on earth nurses will teach you almost the procedure. It is not hard at adjectives, but you have to follow terribly strict sterile procedures, in directive to not infect the patient.
