Colon Cancer Awareness?

I am doing a study on Colon Cancer Awareness. I am comparing awareness at a local level to a national enormity. Since the local percentage is probably lower than the national, I designed my survey in such a road that could suggest that the reason for the lower percentage would be because of drought of awareness. Based on this, what would be my independent and dependent variables? I'm a LITTLE confused by your question- it sounds like your hypothesis ("reason") is that the lower local percentage of colon cancer awareness is cause by. lack of awareness. Not a thoroughly interesting hypothesis, being circular and adjectives.
But perhaps you be set to to simply test whether local awareness in reality IS lower than it is nationally? In that satchel, your dependent variable would be some consider of awareness gathered from your survey, and the independent undependable would be location (local vs. non-local). You would have to administer your survey to both both local and non-local populations.
It's best to really tightly pin down exactly what the hypothesis is that you want to audition. This will help you identify the dependendant variables (outcomes) and the independent variables (the factor you think may be affecting the outcome).
