Cholesterol cause artherosclerosis because:?

A: take bit in aversion of bile acids
B: attracts hydrophobic molecules to form solid deposits
C: Acts a precursor to steroid hormones
D: Maintains structure because of its flat rigid characterisitcs
E: None of the above E. none of the above
LDL is the main delivery service of cholesterol. The LDL is removed from the circulation by either LDL receptors or by nonreceptor mechanism, i.e., macrophages. When there is a ease in LDL receptors or when LDL level exceed receptor availability, the amount of LDL that is removed by scavenger cell is greatly increased. The uptake of LDL by macrophages in the arterial wall can result within the accumulation of insoluble cholesterol esters, the formation of foam cell, and the development of atherosclerosis.
Me W is correct, the answer is E. I would add on, that Cholesterol must be Oxidized before the scavenger receptors can uptake it. It is the oxidation of cholesterol that make it atherogenic.
artherosclerosis means what
i deduce there is a deposition of fat & calcium particles within the inner wall of arteries .due to these deposition there is a pressure created by the walls of the artery which can raison d`¨otre heart failure & other serious problems .
E
E
none of the above.
cholesterol string the wall of the arteries, making them narrow and easier said than done.
