Canine mouths cleaner than human mouths ?

I havent been competent to find any proof whether an average dog or human mouth is cleaner. Mostly just anecdotal articles. Are at hand any scientific microbiological studies comparing the two? It is my assessment that the average dog mouth is cleaner because they lick their wounds to help restore to health them. They are also scavengers so might own saliva that has some category of an antibacterial agent in them to give support to kill the germs of the rotten meat. I know their stomach acids can knob rotten meat that would kill a human.
Interestingly I did find that its safer to hold a dog lick you than a human because they have different germs that dont effect us. http://www.straightdope.com/mailbag/mmou.
I would ask the fire dept. Haven't they given mouth to mouth next to animals?
They did that experiment on Mythbusters and yes the dog had a much cleaner mouth than Adam. Both lick an agar plate and incubated them for 24 hrs.
